Motivate your students to help Jesus carry his cross this Lent.
From the TCT archives: a Great Idea for Lent.
For the Lenten season, we chose the theme “Change Our Hearts.” We made three large brown crosses — one each for grades K-2, 3-5, and 6-8. Students received small pink and red hearts. Each Monday of Lent, they wrote on the hearts how they planned to help Jesus carry his cross and change their hearts. The hearts were placed at the bottom of the cross during the week as a reminder. On Friday they were moved to the cross to show the students’ love and support for Jesus.
