From the TCT archives: bringing recess to a peaceful close
When lunch recess is over, our school bell rings. Students stop whatever they are doing for a brief moment of silence. We encourage them to offer a peace prayer for the world. They squat on the ground, make the sign of the cross, and silently pray, “Lord, let there be world peace. Amen.”
When I blow my whistle, they stand and peacefully walk to their lines.
