Great Ideas for Catholic Schools Week: Meaningful Adjectives

Deck the halls for Catholic Schools Week with this fun activity.

From the TCT archives: a Catholic Schools Week activity that encourages positive self-image

As a follow-up on lessons on adjectives and as a preparation for Catholic Schools Week in January, my fifth-graders made self-portraits. They then described themselves with four or five adjectives that indicated their positive qualities. These adjectives were either printed or cut out and placed on the portraits. Every parent passing through the school corridor was able to see his or her child represented in a positive way, while the students were thrilled with their own self-images.
