Great Ideas: Bedside Cross

Get your students praying and interceding with this great idea.

In a lesson about prayer, I draw a big cross on the smartboard. I explain that during my evening prayers, I pray for many people and things. I write down all the people and things I pray for on the cross.

I hand out construction paper and have students draw and cut out a cross. I ask them to write down anyone or anything they may want to pray for. I ask them to take it home and put it beside their beds. I explain that they could start their evening prayer with “all the prayers I wrote on my cross,” and if they fall asleep, they will have already prayed for all the people or things they have written.
